Rigid Chain Scissor Lift Case Study: 4000kg Long Workpiece Lifting Solution for Malaysia | 4-Unit Synchronized Control

Overview

The client, Choocy, based in Malaysia, ordered four rigid-chain scissor lift platforms from us to support frequent lifting of long workpieces, such as steel pipes, on their production line.

This equipment uses a rigid-chain lifting mechanism that offers advantages over traditional hydraulic systems, including no oil contaminationhigh positioning accuracysmooth lifting, and easy maintenance.

It is particularly well-suited to industrial scenarios with stringent cleanliness and synchronization requirements.

Challenges

  • Oversized Load Dimensions: The workpieces were up to 3300mm in length, requiring an extra-large platform to ensure stability and safety during lifting.
  • Heavy Load Capacity: Each unit must handle a rated load of 4000kg, requiring robust structural integrity and reliable lifting mechanisms.
  • Multi-Unit Coordination: The client required four units that could operate both independently and in synchronized tandem to accommodate workpieces of varying lengths.
  • Production Flexibility: The equipment needed to be movable between workstations, requiring integrated wheels and remote operation capabilities.
  • Export Packaging: As an international shipment to Malaysia, packaging had to ensure safe transport, with two units stacked to optimize container space.

Solution

  • Extra-Large Platform Design: Each unit features a 3300×2000mm platform with a 6mm thick steel deck, providing ample support for long steel pipes and ensuring stable lifting without deflection.
  • Heavy-Duty Structural Frame: Constructed with J160×80×4mm main frames and J120×60×4mm support arms, the structure is engineered to handle 4000kg under frequent use safely.
  • Rigid Chain Drive System: Equipped with 60R pin-gear rigid lifting chains and a 5.5kw geared motor, delivering precise positioning, smooth operation, and zero hydraulic oil leakage—ideal for clean production environments.
  • Flexible Control Configuration: A shared control cabinet allows the four units to operate in synchronized mode for longer workpieces or independently for shorter tasks. A handheld wireless remote provides safe, convenient operation from a distance.
  • Mobility and Stability: Each unit is fitted with four non-powered wheels (with brakes) for easy repositioning across the workshop, while remaining fixed in place when in use.
  • Export-Ready Packaging: Units were stretch-wrapped and container-loaded, with two units securely stacked per the client’s request to maximize shipping efficiency and ensure structural integrity during transit.
